This 10-week challenge is designed to help you reach your New Year’s Resolutions with help from our Personal Trainers and HUB Staff. We are excited to connect with you and help motivate you to make the proper improvements to a healthier lifestyle.
10-WEEK CHALLENGE
January 2 – March 10
TWO CATEGORIES:
Most Pounds Lost OR Bench Press Strength Challenge
MOST POUNDS LOST:
Participants will weigh in between January 2 and January 6 for the start of the challenge. You will have 10 weeks to lose as much weight as possible before weighing back in before the last day of the challenge on March 10. March 6 through March 10 will be the time frame for the final weigh in. Whoever loses the most weight during the 10 weeks will be given a Visa Gift Card valued at $5 per pound of weight lost. (Example: If the winner loses 20 pounds over the course of the 10 weeks, they would receive a $100 Visa gift card!). Participants are more than welcome to weigh in on a weekly basis, but the only two weights that will be recorded by staff will be your weight on weeks one and ten.
BENCH PRESS STRENGTH CHALLENGE:
For the Bench Press Challenge, participants will gradually work their way up to a one rep max on barbell bench press. This must be done the first week of the challenge between January 2 and January 6. The lift must be supervised by HUB staff and must be performed under specific guidelines given prior to the lift. Once the participants have completed the one rep max test, they will then put 65% of that weight on the bar and lift that weight until failure (This portion is required in the event of a tiebreaker). On the 10th week (March 6-10) the max test will be performed again to see how much your max increased over the 10 weeks. Whoever has the biggest difference from the start of the 10 weeks to the final week will be the winner. In the event two people have identical increases; the person with the highest number of reps at their 65% of their max will be the winner. The winner will receive a Visa Gift Card for 50% of the total registration fees.
