POSITION TITLE: Sports and Fitness Coordinator

PAY CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time; Exempt

SUPERVISOR: General Manager

NATURE OF WORK:

Provide safe, welcoming, and a clean environment for members and program participants. Meet and greet members, assist in the member orientation process, build positive relationships with members, ensure all members follow all policies and guidelines, and guide and assist staff in procedures for fitness department delivery of quality service. Assist with the administration of sports programming.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • 1. Greet all members of the HUB upon entering the facility/area
  • 2. Effectively supervise all participants in the fitness center, gymnasium, and sports events.
  • 3. Provide safe and effective instruction of all cardiovascular and weight training equipment within one’s
  • level of education and training.
  • 4. Communicate to sports and fitness attendants’ cleaning and other floor tasks as directed by the
  • Fitness Coordinator
  • 5. Communicate to Sports and Fitness Coordinator resources needed by staff to ensure safety and
  • cleanliness of the fitness floor and group exercise rooms and gymnasium.
  • 6. Assist Sports and Fitness Coordinator with review of applicants for positions and attend interviews as
  • needed by Sports and Fitness Coordinator
  • 7. Assist Sports and Fitness Coordinator with new staff training.
  • 8. Assist Sports and Fitness Coordinator with equipment safety checks.
  • 9. Conduct Youth Orientations
  • 10. Responsible for keeping equipment and area properly sanitized and clear of hazards daily.
  • 11. Clean up, collect, and return all supplies and equipment used for activities to proper place.
  • 12. Properly submit behavioral and incident reports.
  • 13. Attend and complete all scheduled staff meetings and trainings.
  • 14. Ensure staff availability of forms including check off lists, youth orientation sheets, bathroom sheets, and
  • gym count sheets.
  • 15. Supervise daily tasks for sports and fitness staff.
  • 16. Assists with sports and fitness programming and events.
  • 17. Assists with sporting events set up.
  • 18. Administer first aid and emergency procedures as needed.
  • 19. All other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The candidate must have a basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology and experience working with weight and cardio equipment. The candidate must also have basic knowledge of volleyball, basketball, and football-playing rules. Must be minimum of 18 years of age, and have the ability to effectively communicate with all ages about procedures and policies. CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications are required within the first 30 days of employment.

As scheduled by Supervisor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, and kneel and must occasionally lift and/or move 50-100 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
